Sunrise is a Shopify app that re-sorts a store's collections overnight so fast-rotating catalogs stay fresh. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and for how long. The short version: Sunrise works with store and product data, and it does not collect or store personal data about a store's customers.
When a merchant installs Sunrise, Shopify asks them to approve the app's access scopes. Through those scopes we read and process:
To measure whether sorting actually helps (A/B testing), Sunrise records anonymous, aggregate interaction events from the storefront: the event type (for example a collection view, add-to-cart or purchase), the collection involved, the order value and currency, the product identifiers, and the date in the store's time zone.
These events contain no personal data: no names, no email addresses, no shipping or billing details, no IP addresses, no cookies and no device fingerprinting. They cannot be linked back to an individual shopper.
On stores with the personalization tier enabled, the signals used to personalize a collection page (such as recently viewed product types) are kept in the visitor's own browser storage. They are sent transiently with a request to rank that page and are never stored on our servers.

request and we permanently delete all data associated with that store.customers/data_request, customers/redact,
shop/redact). Because we hold no customer personal data, there
is nothing to export or redact for individual customers.Sunrise is hosted on Fly.io in the European Union (Amsterdam). We do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we use no third-party analytics or tracking services. Data is used solely to provide the app's sorting and measurement features to the merchant who installed it.
